Reddy is credited for developing recognizing continuous speech and is a world leader inspeech recognition. Reddy also pioneered the design and construction of large-scale artificialintelligence systems. Reddy founded and led the Robotics Institute in 1979, the first roboticsdepartment at any US university. We have speech recognition today because of him.

Vint Cerf is known as the father of the internet and co-founded the TCP/IP used today. Him and his partner Robert Kahn made the internet possible because they essientially built the foundation of the internet. He was rewarded the U.S. national medal of technology for the invention.
